Abaloparatide, sold under the brand name Tymlos among others, is a parathyroid hormone-related protein (PTHrP) analogue medication used to treat osteoporosis. It is an anabolic (i.e., bone growing) agent. The most common side effects include hypercalciuria (high calcium levels in the urine) and dizziness. Other common side effects include back pain, nausea, headache, joint pain, high blood pressure, reactions at the injection site, and palpitations (a forceful heartbeat that may be rapid or irregular). Abaloparatide was approved for medical use in the United States in April 2017, and in the European Union in December 2022.
